perhaps slightly more articulate than i...

found this quote in a book about birthing and parenting. the book wasn't so great but this struck me.

spontaneous labor in a normal womean is an event marked by a number of
processes so complicated and so perfectly attuned to each other that any
interference will only detract from the optimal character. The only thing re-
-quired from the bystanders is that they show respect for this awe-inspiring
process by complying with the first rule of medicine- nil nocere [do no harm]

word. i think i would have probably yelled something along the lines of "get outta my face, i wanna do this myself" to anyone who tried to mess with my birth but this works too.
